It is so nice outside I believe Arlo and I will be going on a walk today.

Dog Days of Summer

I had a couple of perfect picture opportunities but my camera was in a whole different room. I knew as soon as I moved the moment would be lost. And it was. :( So here's a Minnie photo since Arlo was shy as soon as I pulled out my camera.

Best Friends

Bo is Arlo's best friend. It is so cute to see them run around together. Surprisingly Bo doesn't step on Arlo. He does, however, slobber all over Arlo. So much so, he ends up completely wet by the time we go home.

Training

Arlo and I are working on training. He is so smart and I need to be more diligent with him about it. I saw a story on the Today show about 'hand targeting'. When you present your hand the dog knows to touche your hand. And it totally makes sense so that's what we are doing right now.

Odd...

So last night I stopped to get my mail and the neighbor's kids saw me come home. I really didn't want to talk with them so I pulled in my garage and immediately closed the garage door. No big deal. Most people do that. It's usually a signal that you don't want to hang out or chic chat. Again no big deal. Well these kids proceed to knock on my door within minutes of me getting inside my house. And do you know what they wanted? To play with my dogs! 1. They have their own dog. 2. I don't really know these kids. 3. My dogs don' t know these kids. I just think this is the oddest request ever. Like I would just let my dogs go with some strangers. Not to mention Minnie is 2 lbs and to trust a 10 year old kid and an 8 year old kid with her by themselves. I don't think so!

Iowa State Fair

Any one who knows me knows that I have an obsession with cows. Add that with the obsession with small animals and you get the mini cows. Seriously! These are mini cows! Actually it's a mini baby cow. So cute!

Nothing new

I really don't have anything new with Arlo. He's still a crazy pup and I really should take him to dog training. He's got this habit of hiding from me when he knows I have to leave for work. I'm used to having a dog that goes to his kennel when you tell him. Arlo has decided that's not how he rolls.
