What a busy weekend it was. My poor puppies were missing me big time. I spent a lot of time at my sister's house getting her house ready to sell. And we only saw one of Johnathan's games.
You know you are tired when you don't even pick up the chair to sit in it - you just crash on top of it.

Dog bed
So I got Arlo and Minnie a new dog bed. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was on sale and even more surprised when I got a bigger discount since I have a Petco card. It's a lovely addition to my living room. (The cats like it too even though they don't fit in it. I have a feeling Big Fat Maxy Cat is going to take it over.)

Big Sissy
So it's been raining off and on for the last day or so. Well... Arlo doesn't think this is all that great. He will not get his feet wet!! That makes pottying outside a little hard to do if he won't even go in yard because the grass is wet!
Good times!

Arlo my lap
It's fun having a 2 year old in the family. I really can't understand a word she says but every now and then - things are quite clear. Like when she wants to hold Arlo. Hence the phrase, "Arlo, my lap!" And now when my sister and I are talking, we don't even say Arlo's name without using "Arlomylap!"

Arrival of Minnie
I took a couple days off of work to pick up Minnie in DeKalb, Illinois. Minnie is quite adorable and I couldn't be happier. Arlo doesn't seem all that affected by her arrival. He's happy to beat up on her and play with her and generally hang out with her. I hope that continues. And since Minnie seems to have the hang of pottying outside I hope she will teach Arlo a thing or two.
I think Minnie might just need her own website. Yes! She is just that cute!

Friends
Poor Arlo was left alone for most of yesterday and he was wound up by the time I got home. Even still this morning! Which led to me locking myself out of my house when I let Arlo out to do his business. (Good times!) So imagine, Kara walking over to Earl May at 7:45am to use the phone since all of my neighbors were already gone. And think about how many phone numbers you actually know since all of them are programed into your cell phone.
But it was all worth it since I thoroughly enjoyed myself last night. In the words of a good friend,"The gossip was substantial and the company exhilarating".
Included are a couple of pictures we took last night - tell me which one you like the best!

Update on Gray's Lake
Arlo and I finally got a walk in at Gray's Lake and parts of the trail are still under water. I took a few pictures just to give you an idea of how bad it is.
Arlo's newest trick is running away from me in the morning. He knows exactly when it's time for me to leave and he literally runs away from me so I can't put him in his kennel. He is too smart for his own good! Little does he know, I'm going to start confining him again in the morning. Consequences people!

New camera
I finally broke down and bought a digital camera. And I LOVE IT! Why did I wait so long - I don't know - I'm cheap? Yeah maybe. None-the-less I love it. It's small, it's sleek and it has a huge viewfinder/screen. I swear it was like Christmas at my house on Saturday. And true to form, I didn't take a ton of pictures with it. Just like it took hours for me to sit and enjoy my new couch. I don't know why I do this - I just do.

Gray's Lake
I walk at Gray's Lake quite a bit. I love going there because it's a beautiful park and I know once around the lake is 2 miles. I like to walk 4-6 miles at least 4 days a week. Now that I have Arlo, I wasn't sure if he would be able to handle the walk. I'm glad to say so far he is doing great. 2 miles doesn't even faze him.
Since we have had so much rain lately, Gray's has been closed for a few days because of flooding. I am so mad I forgot to bring my camera yesterday on our walk. The water was so high it nearly touched the top of the walking bridge and parts of the trail are still underwater. It made walking a little tricky. We basically walked up and back on one side. Hopefully I will post pictures tomorrow.
